Found a little more time on me hands lately, for some reason or another, thought I'd pop back in.
Not too bad. Dropped some cash into a video chat investment a month or two before this whole thing hit, but went with Co-Vid instead of Zoom and hindsight's 20/20, other'n that surviving alright. Miss them Dub days
Kept waiting for a track on this thing to miss, but flubbing the landing ain't what these guys do

I would give just about anything for a whole record of the downbeat minimalism of shit like Lacquer, Unfurl, Departer...
absolutely 100%. their riffs are fun but I've wanted them to go full electronic for so long now

Jonas could go full electronic at some point, but not under the Katatonia moniker. He talks a bit about that here: https://loudwire.com/katatonia-jonas-renkse-interview-city-burials/

Honestly, still kind of reads as maintaining some sort of a comfort zone, despite what he says earlier regarding most of their albums being reactionary (and as consistently strong as their comfort zone is).
Edit: Though NitND is almost half made of what I’m clamoring/yammering for, so might just be an ungrateful sap

@porcupinetheater Check Renske's collaboration with Pineapple's Thief Bruce Soord if you haven't, I think they take a more brooding acoustic/electronic approach there.

Yeah, jammed it and dig enough, but I never really thought it had the same sorta atmosphere of urban desolation that the Katatonia equivalents bring to the table.
Frozen North slaps, though

Life, what's this life you speak off?
At first listen and I'm loving it so far. Rein is intense af [2]. Not a subpar song here so far, curious to see if the second half holds up as well as the first.

Agree that the guitars sound weaker on remastered VE, it became really obvious on the outro of Inside the City of Glass for me. Really hyped for this record, will listen now

The album sounds good. I am not familiar with their albums, but from the songs I've heard they should be an overall great band.
