A really strange album, even though it's disjointed as hell, with the two jokey cuts (Nightmare and Parents) sticking out like sore thumbs, it has this joyous atmosphere created by Will Smith's personality and DJ Jazzy Jeff's insane turntabilism.

Def their best album. This duo is like a light hearted version of Eric B & Rakim

This is pure serotonin, corny sure but man early fresh prince was unbeatable

I should jam these late 80s jazzy Jeff records. I love his 90s stuff but generally am not huge on 80s hip hop so have been worried that I’m not gonna vibe.

I think Code Red slaps tho, rating on here is disgraceful

you already know Jeff is a legend so you'll at least appreciate that regardless, but I think you should. I've been listening to them this week and I'm shocked how effectively it takes me to a better place. I always liked their albums but upon my recent listens I have a new appreciation for this style of fun music, especially compared to the modern hip-hop landscape that has become much more serious, this definitely has the playful late 80's thing going on

Aight I shall, it feels like necessary homework as a hip hop fan so even if it’s not for me it is not time wasted

Time to Chill is excellent. That Breezin’ sample does wonders

Gotta say for a 1988 record, the beats on this are absolutely excellent and sound like 10 years ahead of the time
