I'm going to spin this for the first time today, see how it goes. I can't lie, I really hope for some good cheese.

Huge album, and definitely ambitious. It's gonna take me a few more listens to fully digest it and form a more solid opinion, but it's good.

I remember listening to Noise and Harvest when they dropped and promptly forgot about them. Seems like the rest of this will follow suit.

I really love them but this is so boring and uninspiring and I feel that Floor iss underutilized.

"Hey Poet - I remember when you joined back around when Dark Passion Play released, we had some good talks! I only jump on this site about once a week now, but I did so explicitly to see if anyone had reviewed this album yet. Glad to see it was you.

I’ll probably be playing this all day tomorrow."

Hey! Long time no talk. I'm on the site even less than you are now, but I had to review this out of principle. I probably would not have done so if I wasn't stuck in the house all day because I would have still been in Egypt working.

And woo hoo for featured review.

"The vocal phrasing on Harvest is some of the worst I’ve ever heard."

Now listening and that also goes for Tribal and Endlessness in my book. Sucks, cause Tribal started off pretty good. Yeah pls don't tell me these vocal choices become progressively worse.

I’ve been repping ATHF and the master shake avatar for, like... *checks profile*

15 years! Damn I’ve been here a long time. That must have been early high school for me.

Tuomas' under-use of Floor on this album is almost criminal. Her vocals near the end of Shoemaker are intensely beautiful and reminiscent of Tarja, but it's hard to find any other good Floor moments on this album. I really wish she had gone more primal on Tribal with some of those classic Re-Vamp growls.

after the first time through listening to this with one ear it feels like more than half of this album is soundtrack-esque... idk what to think of that

The unusual structure of the songs, as well as the new harmonies conceived by the mastermind of Tuomas, required more than just a couple of listenings to tame my brain and finally make him release some endorphines
