I get the appeal with Ten but Vitalogy is my boy
Corduroy and Immortality is the peak PJ style for me
I’m with you man. Also my favorite PJ album, and two of my top five PJ songs (I know Black would be in there as well).

Yeah, s/t is just alright, but there are fantastic tracks like Marker in the Sand and Inside Job. Lightning Bolt is kinda bad, but Getaway (the opener) is stellar.

I love Binaural. Very underrated. Would add Nothing As It Seems to my top five.
Black
Corduroy
Immortality
Nothing As It Seems
Not sure what number five would be tbh. Many contenders. Gotta say though, Smile is their most underrated song and would prob make my top 10 cut.

nothing as it seems is def the highlight off binaural, but all it's more atmospheric cuts i remember really liking the last time i listened to it (which was admittedly a very stoned listen)
binaural's rockier moments do not grab me at all tho, but i guess that can be said about a lot of their later output bar maybe backspacer

I agree with that to a certain extent, but God’s Dice and Breakerfall are pretty awesome.

revisiting all their stuff for this kinda exhausted the idea of listening to any of their post yield stuff again but that one im kinda tempted to go back to bc i in the moment was relatively immersed by all the spacier shit and bc i think it at least has more of a sonic identity to it some of the time other than like riot act or lightning bolt

Binaural is easily my favourite post Yield album as well - I think I enjoy it more than Yield on some days.

Yield is one of their best albums.

Considering how Pearl Jam is now one of the only Seattle bands with the original singer still standing, I was expecting this release to be a lot darker and more intense... even if I understand how personal the issue is.
I just listened to Temple of the Dog the other day, and it just makes me so sad now

These dudes are still a great live band (saw them in 2018 last time) but their last album I really loved from start to finish was 24 years ago. I'm talking about "No Code" (1996!!!). Since then, they became blander and blander with every new release. This album was a long yawn for me.

I just came to get some opinions from people who haven't been alive as long as these guys have been a band.

It’s solid, but weirdly they sound like too many of their not as good imitators.

giving this a 3.5 since I'm a lifelong fanboy but it's more like a 2.5-3.0 unfortunately. Still the best live big band around though.
