“I’m definitely not upset with how this turned out”

yea, I was pretty skeptical at what to expect from this album, but it slaps hard. Not as good as the previous two, but amazing as its own record

Heaven, Alone just made me want to listen to The Best Pessimist, the ambience and the metalcore-y bits on this clash a little for me, kind of like oil and water.

These guys have always done ambience and metalcore better than anybody I've heard

I don’t really like it as much. Doesn’t tøp stillworld for me and it lacks sad ambient songs like Darkbloom or Soulsleeper. I like the Bens cleans more than Marcus. This guys cleans are too high pitched like on Halycon. Bens were more laid back and chilling. Cloud Cascade definitely is the weakest song still no doubt.

I don't know if they'll ever top Stillworld, honestly. It's perfect front to back and Ben was just a better all around vocalist imo. I still think this is pretty damn good though.

Yea I like Ben more in every way, but I think Marcus is still really solid as a vocalist, especially those lows

at least these guys aren't going the Erra route, lose a kick ass vocalist then slowly get worse and worse

True that brother, although I like Neon a lot more than Drift. Garrison lives on in our hearts

Disagree with that, but they are both hard 5's so I'm not upset with that opinion lol

Yea both are hard 5s for me and they do switch places a lot for me, just depends on what I'm in the mood for

There’s more prog riffs than ambient sounds in Everchanger, like the ambient parts only come near the end like in Courier and Native Intellect. Not a fan of prog riffs, the more ambient sounds they do are better, which is why Stillworld is my favorite rather than this or Everchanger. They utilized it the best in that album.

I honestly think I might prefer this vocalist overall. Especially in terms of harsh vox at least.
