--i think the only thing that lets me down about this album is the tracking of aaron's vocals - i think it's overdone and lets the natural expression of his voice get lost in translation.--

I really like the vocals from a purely musical standpoint, but there is definitely a lack of emotion.

They're a doom band, but not one of the ultra-slow ones. This particular album has a lot of melody.

Check out A Line of Deathless Kings instead. As far as their latest-ish output goes, it's a borderline masterpiece.

I think my favorite MDB album is Turn Loose the Swans, but for the modern stuff it's definitely The Light At the End of the World.
