Jamming this now and so far so good.

i think the only thing that lets me down about this album is the tracking of aaron's vocals - i think it's overdone and lets the natural expression of his voice get lost in translation. the delivery of tracks like 'the old earth' falls a bit flat because of this.

but otherwise i'm happy - though this is a comparatively subdued album compared to their last effort, it's very poignant and some of the riffs are fantastic (and man, that fucking *tone*)

"Lies is probably the only album by them that is as bad as that 34.6678654534534535% thing imo"

34.788% Complete is one of their best albums

I have never been a massive fan of this group's sound and the lack of artistic progression that has characterised their latest series of releases doesn't make me particularly excited for this record. The review was excellently written though.

I'm hoping this grows on me. I actually think the vocals are the weakest part of this album; the production is fine but the emotion feels lacking probably because of all those harmonies. I feel like Tired of Tears was a missed opportunity to get what he was really feeling out. The lyrics are all great but the delivery could have been so much better. There's usually an emotional climax with his vocal style where it sounds like he's about to break but that was missing here!

At no point on this album do I feel the misery, so to speak. Instrumentally it's pretty consistent with previous releases so it has growing potential at least.

Never listened to this band. Gothic? Doom? Prog? Starting point? Willie used melody a lot. I like melody.
