So I've given this a few spins in between errything else I need to listen to this week and I've come to the conclusion that parts of this are really disjointed/off-setting while the 'heavier' sections are forced and way too saturated. In reference to the Deftones comment I made in the other thread - I still don't care one way or the other for it.

Songs like 'Screaming' and 'A sad cartoon', or the melodic chorus of 'Aggressive evolution' highlight this bands ability to write great music. 1/6 of this album had me happy I bought the album. While it's a great effort they can't hold a candle to Deftones(yet). Sorry kiddies.

it's absolutely not one specific genre. it's pretty wide ranging, and without any subgenre attempts coming off as half-baked. Which is one thing I really appreciate about this. "is it really you" and "gored" couldn't be more different, yet I feel they pull off both styles really well. Anyone calling this Deftones worship is clearly ignoring st least 50% of what's here. The heavy stuff is interesting to me, can't think of anything else they could possibly be mimicking

I really don't get where the appeal lies in this band. Certainly not his monotone mumbling parading as singing and the chugs are incredibly flat and unmoving which seems extra bad considering the amount of effort they put in to layering and distorting the ever living shit out of it.

So I guess I'm here for the mcdonald's branded shoegaze. Nice

This album does make a lot more sense if you imagine it being arranged in Mcdonalds hmm, you might be onto something there

Boy are the heavy sections on this bad. And transitions are basically non-existent. Pika 2 incoming
