It might be the headspace I’m in but I love that I can’t understand the words here, just a pure cleansing rage here

I wish i had any idea what he was saying, because being able to pick out words amongst the cathartic skramz is one of my favorite things about the genre, but instrumentally this is still some of the best shit I've heard in a long while.

This is amazing even if I usually prefer being able to instantly understand cathartic skramz.

"You're better off not understanding the language tbh, these guys are super corny, but really cool album"

the lyrics are undeniably cheesy but somehow the swedish language fits that

and then kontakt fucking comes in and grooves so hard

this track actually reminds me hard of a post-rockier this is not a game of who the fuck are you, another swedish band who went seriously overlooked

Do you mean in the sense of how the language sounds despite not understanding it or as someone who speaks Swedish? This is not a criticism and it's dumb but I sort of instinctively shy away from lyrics like 'The tears that have fallen / Their salty taste / Stays in my mouth' but I find it doesn't affect my enjoyment of this at all, it's not really about the words even as someone who understands them

God I forgot about those guys, they fucking rule. Thanks for the reminder my man.

Thinking about it, while it's quite clearly the same band I think Dumskallarnas... is probably the only song on here that would comfortably fit on Den Sorgligaste... The albums feel really different to me.

sort of both/neither, there's really no rational explanation for that. i tend to view swedish as a very soft, warm language and these lyrics, albeit corny, when delivered with a sense of suffering like here, it adds a little extra punch somehow

I get what you're saying

I also don't want to come across as overly cynical because I do enjoy them in their context despite how pedantic I sound

Cool album. I'm not usually very into screamo nor music that's sung in my native language, but these guys pull it off well.
