i was traveling when this came out and it never really fit the mood of where I was so I never gave it a fair shake. I think I also was unhappy that it wasn't a monstrosity like their previous recording and leaned far more towards atmospherics like their previous works.
That all said, I'm finally onboard with this, I really like the direction they went with it

"This shit is intoxicating." humm I owe a few listens then...I haven't felt intoxicated at all...Although I got and dug their more "earthy" approach this time, just didn't hit me as hard as some of their former "outworldly" works.

I recommend a read along of the lyrics if you haven't already. Really makes the songwriting stick out. Insidious is another word I really associate with this album

Yes...I've been meaning to do this with lyrics, or on much closer/ repetitive listen anyway...All the controversy maybe warned me off a bit, but that rev sure is a breeze of fresh air (lol?).

Woah, nail on the head there nocte. I'm a wanted man here now. I've taken a netbook into hiding and will be committing my newfound nomadic lifestyle entirely to controversial sputnik broadcasts. Unfortunately I only have a discman and Limp Bizkit's New Old Songs, so will be relying entirely on memory and speculation for new reviews
