"I've always admired the artistry of contrasting beauty and decay such that the distinction obscures. I've found it notable in films like 'Annihilation', 'Valhalla Rising', or 'Suspiria' (2018), where visceral, unnerving content is shot in such a profound, stunning manner that violence and grace begin to coalesce and become indistinguishable. It's revealing of the necessity for polarities such as these to exist in order to fully realize their respective affects."

I basically said this in a conversation recently; lots of my favorite music and movies/tv shows do this in one way or another. My top 3 favorite movies of the past 2 years actually are Annihilation, Suspiria, and Midsommar (director's cut). Hannibal is the perfect example of a TV show that does that balance really well too. Anyway I haven't jammed this whole album yet, but I liked what I've heard so far.

Yeah Hannibal was great. I think it kind of dipped a bit in quality in season 3 though. Maybe this was partially due to the kinda rushed ending, or the fact that the plotline was basically a longer version of the Red Dragon movie, which I've seen too many times. Hannibal and Will's relationship was so good though, the whole way through.

I wonder who would win in a battle of wits between Hannibal and Sherlock.

For real, Mads performance in the season 2 finale is some of the best acting of the decade
