Isn't "kaffir" the word the South African bad guys kept saying in Lethal Weapon 2

This just flows better for me than some of their recent albums. I would instantly hit replay if I didn't have this BI also demanding attention.

Yea this kicks ass. I've listened to it a bunch of times and it's still fresh. It has a lot of the features I notice are common to great releases: moments of controlled madness blended with sick grooves, a lot to unpack but also a lot of immediacy, variety but while maintaining a focused identity, and then some choice stand out moments of brilliance. Damn the drum performance alone carries this even if you ignore how excellent everything else is.

I remember not being too hot on the album before this, but maybe it wasn't to my taste yet. I haven't heard anything else by them though. I need to do a discography run after how good this was.

How well said, Dmax. Happy running, they have sooooo many good songs.

We should make a top 10.

I can't do it, as I did the review I'll be embarrassed if I say it's my least favorite. I'll pass ;)

I agree album holds to multiple listens. I kinda want to bump the rate, but on these dudes, I feel I owe some listens to their other albums...this is awesome...but def not better than AotW for me, atm.

i think if this had a production style a bit more like the last album (imo their best produced besides TWTGD which kinda sounds a bit too clean to me now) it'd be an easy 4

I get that, but I think production somehow enhances atmosphere here.
