The storyline would be a good place to start. That shit was all over the place. Some huge continuity issues to when looking at a larger DC scale. The list goes on, I didn't mean to rail-road this thread though.

Great review and I agree with a lot of your points. Not enough of the build-ups lead to greatness the way their other albums consistently did, and I remember a few moments of self-plagiarization.
However it's still a really good album; production is very nice, best bass lines of their career, really tight and unified songwriting overall, and it reminds me of Bergtatt, which can only be a positive.
