Need to jam Yoshu Fukushu again, that album goes so hard. Such a different take on fun to this though, bet the two pair quite well

Very insightful. You’ve managed to cover it all in one broken sentence.

To be fair you need to have very high IQ to understand the density of BABYMETAL

Ha ha. I don’t know about that. All it takes is for someone to realize not all metal has to be serious business. That doesn’t mean they’ll like Babymetal, but it’s definitely the first requirement in order to have a chance.

" to realize not all metal has to be serious business. "
do many people think that? i mean, seminal thrash material is pretty light-hearted. even the evil killing is my business album has a track about the killer bunny in monty python and the holy grail

Nah, all metal just NEEDS to be at least bR0uTaAl, HeAvY, comPlEX, TecHNIcaL or FaST. Everyone knows that.

There are exceptions to the rule, but they’re generally only a song or two across an entire career. Anthrax used to be pretty fun, but suddenly they went all serious in order to gain more legitimacy with Persistence of Time, and they’ve never gone back. SYL was mostly fun. Look across the net and there are tons of metal heads that take their music too serious.

OK, but that still doesn't make this good. Your Anthrax example is pretty much perfect as they have easily written some of the worst metal of the '80s. It was pure frivolity with no good writing to back it up. Despite KIMB probably not being known as a "fun" album, the writing and energy it has is certainly a lot more enjoyable than the plodding boredom that characterized Anthrax's most acclaimed albums.
This band may as well be Japanese metal's Attila.

On that first sentence, I agree with you. If you looked at the rest of my post you quoted, it said, “That doesn’t mean they’ll like Babymetal, but it’s definitely the first requirement in order to have a chance.” We’re saying the same thing.
For the rest of what you said, I disagree. I love the ‘fun’ Anthrax years. Also, enjoyable doesn’t have to equal fun. There are tons of albums I enjoy that I wouldn’t really consider ‘fun’ and ‘fun’ albums (Like Kontrust) that I didn’t enjoy.
