I can see Hallucinogen's simplicity wasn't to your liking. I don't agree with some of your arguments, but the review is well written, as always.
In my opinion, the artwork doesn't match the music. The album doesn't take me to hallucinogenic universes, or to purple colors. That being said, Hallucinogen is quite interesting, especially the first three songs.

Totally feel the incoherence, but thats the cover/ title vs music, not the music per se...the purple is there though, in the pretty and "gazey" aspects of it. Curious enough, I dig more the 2 last ones m/ ahah

I love this album, their atmosphere and sense of melody is amazing.
As far as the psychedelic sense, Hallucinahlia definitely gives me some of those vibes with those bluesy rock lead guitars.

this is good, somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4.0 for me after first listen. The choral vox act more as an atmospheric texture than an engaging element. I'd be curious to follow along with the lyrics if they exist
