--Didn't know this was a thing. I loved the ethereal atmosphere of the original and after listening to the little teaser of the remix, it definitely has that modern sound. But it also sounds like it lost that atmosphere that made me love the album when it initially released. --

It still has the atmosphere, IMO, just not the vocals.

I probably haven't listened to the original from beginning to end in about a year before I got the promo for this version. It grew back on me pretty damn quick.

Not entirely true. This will appeal to certain people, and it's not like Cynic is releasing anything else anytime soon. This would only feel unnecessary or frustrating to me if they opted to do this instead of something new, but nothing new was coming anyway.

I just think one of the highlights of the OG was the mix. And the cover art... which they also slashed lol

Removing the growls is, in fact, a dealbreaker for me. Bleh, hard pass.

actually much prefer this version. i think the growls were really out of place in tracks like integral birth, which sounds much better to me now

Aw... that review. Ha ha. Is this streaming somewhere or has it leaked? So, any emotional depth on this version ;)

only heard a few of the tracks, not sure if the whole thing is streaming somewhere atm, but they sounded much improved imo. and lol i don't really agree with any of my original gripes towards traced in air - that review was so god damn silly :P

fun fact: i was actually going to throw in the towel and quit reviewing back then until you and jom gave me some words of encouragement to keep at it. so, thanks =]

I love remasters so i'm okay with this. Not like the original sounded bad though.
