you genuinely can't hear anything on the original, and when things get really busy, it's incoherent. and in typical malpass fashion, the bass might as well not be in the mix at all. not even the level of quality you'd expect from a demo. i still think it's insane that the dudes at rise records listened to it and said, "this is OK, let's ship it," without a second thought.

Instant Gratification for me but this is just a smidge below Mothership which is also just a smidge below IG, all of them slap. IG is like a 4.7, Mothership a 4.6, and this like a 4.4

I think it has a nice handful of great songs but nothing that puts it over the other Tilian era albums. This album has actually grown on me more and I already liked some of the songs on here.

idk acceptance speech is just so great vocally, feels like the only album where swan and co painstakingly built the songs to suit tilian and mess, the harmonies are the best this band ever did
