Shit reminds me of Clarence Clarity. I always knew they had their musical ties but this one really brings it out.

I have no clue how to feel about this, it reminds me of the reception to Solange's When I Get Home and what the complaints about that were (scattershot, fragmented, etc. but I'm not too sure that's what I'm getting with this)

it's baffling to me how much people drool over unstructured, ethereal and aimless stuff these last few years. Dunno what it is about. Maybe something about the internet or smn.

like, something about the fragmented, disjointed, fleeting nature of modern music seems to resonate with the fragmented, disjointed and fleeting nature of modern discourse.

it's almost like the whole album is about internet culture or something

I have never 5'd a new release before, period. Like I have not 5'd something that has been released since I started on this website 10 years ago.

One day I hope to

*brooks dissent at everyone from my cot*

i'm disappointed by this and if i was to identify a complaint at an early stage is that it's too focused, a perfectly ordered and working machine that doesn't thrill me or take me anywhere. it's like he deliberately neutered his peccadilloes for broader listeners and lost a bit of Peggy in the process .

but i mean it's not terrible

I can definitely see that

I was watching his performance at some festival on youtube a few weeks ago and the entire setlist was all bangers and no breathers. Dude screamed every word to every song. Almost feel like he had that in mind when making this album.

i don't hear this at all... this album is all over the place (in a good way), doesn't sound streamlined or 'ordered' in any way to my ears. this is my first experience with jpegmafia, so maybe that has something to do with it?
