I don't know man, I don't see why hate this for being derivative if you enjoyed the previous albums. The Got the Life-like beat in the chorus of Idiosyncrasy, the vocal harmonies in that section you mentioned in This Loss, the d'n'b beat in the middle of H@rd3r... it's not a masterpiece but overall it's competent fun imo.
"it is precisely 2x better than the new tool"
Don't know about 2x but the new Tool is soporific so yeah this wins

Why are we comparing everything to the new Tool album now? It's not like it's a blueprint of quality, more like the opposite.

The bait was placed and sometimes you just want to bite it.

Why are we mentioning Tool?
If that's the trendy comparison at the moment, well...
Fear Inoculum is is woefully average because there are lots of better bands making similar music. You know, songs that use odd time signatures and long runtimes but are actually catchy, or actually rock, or actually build towards something interesting.
Korn still sound like Korn, love 'em or hate 'em. But for the type of music they put out, at least they still sound like they're at the top of their game, unlike Tool, who sound like a pale imitation of countless better prog/post-metal bands.
In short, New Korn is at least better than New Tool.

This same thing happened with Korn III. I fucking love that album but the type of person who calls people psychopaths for buying "x" phone or pronouncing GIF a certain way, decided to shit on it. Is this better than Tool I can't answer, but I'd certainly rather listen to this than some random 90s grunge band trying to be deep.

imagine holding 180g audiophile limited edition neon splatter pressings of both this and the new tool and listening to the new tool literally even one time when you could be jamming the 5th worst korn album instead

Never was a big fan of Korn, mainly because of how one dimensional and boring Jon Davis is. Guy is basically the metal version of Taylor Swift, in terms of recycling the same shitty lyrical content over and over. But I still enjoyed their last album (Brian Welsch makes them listenable at times)--but this new album of theirs is absolute traaaaaaaash.

phoned in big time agreed
not an original idea on this thing, all build up to the choruses which are uniformly shitty

Haha wtf? Have you heard the album, or did you decide in advance to give a bad review? As a 20 year + metalhead I can only say that this album has all the ingredients you'll expect from Korn.

it sounds like a worse version of Untouchables which itself was a 2.5 album
best heavy Korn was the debut
best pop Korn was FTL
