enjoyed the section where she goes DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SUDOWOODO!

Weird stuff for sure but pretty good

it's cause the concept demands they string together a dozen 6 min songs. that's why the record is fatiguing
not that i agree, but it's worth noting that these songs were not originally written to be exactly six minutes each. on the original Saijiki digital EP releases, the track lengths arent all the same and all but one of them are shorter than 6 mins. so they were all edited/re-recorded to be longer for this release.

That doesn’t really change the fact that the songs are the length they are for the sake of the concept so it’s still a valid point (if not especially so considering they’ve been reworked)
Doesn’t bother me so much but I’d probably be happy to slap on a 5 if it were condensed, I don’t really see the need for the concept to be this rigid

New Hakushi Hasegawa is dope and a vaguely similar fix to this

i'm all for J-pop weirdness (as my avatar shows) but this is very grating. Wish it was 30 min shorter.

This is good but I don't know man, might be I've been in this country way too much time of my life but this sooo weird. Definitely way too long.
It has some really brilliant moments, some Pizzicato 5 even, so good, but the real hero is the absolute madman that mixed/edited all this shit (if it was her, she's a genius).

i said this before but everything here was written/composed/produced by Akira Ishida, not Chiyono. like most idol groups, it's an older guy orchestrating everything behind the scenes.

Ishida Akira?? The voice of Kaoru in Evangelion?? lol wtf, what a legend.

Hahaha diffrent Akira, but that would have been amazing
I'm still in two minds about the length. When I first heard it, it seemed way longer than it needed to be and I definitely was not a fan, but having given it some space the long runtime feels appropriate. This isn't really a binge album, more of a once in a while trip - and when taking that trip and going through a whole conceptual year, the long run does it a few favours. Think that's part of what gives it staying power, but it'd definitely be a whole lot easier to get into with a few bits trimmed

Yeah man, seems like a really ambitious project, like way too ambitious for its own good. But the concept behind it is brilliant and the execution almost flawless. It's not so much about her singing, etc, but the editing/mixing/producing of this thing is really amazing.

Way too ambitous for it's own good except when you specifically feel like living a vicarious year by means of a multitracked dubiously pop headfuck and then it's perfect ;]
Agreed on the last part though, although her vocals are a solid step up from the debut; much more going for them here
|

I believe you Johnny, since you know them better than I do.
And if you have sold it to me as a "multitracked dubiously pop headfuck" I would had 5 it without listening to it.
