First listen of this was slightly disappointing, but still enjoyable. The genre wasn't anything unique, which is kind of what I came to expect from her (admittedly, I just binged her entire discography this week). But she still did it better than most others.

She is good, I love her early work. And I enjoy Pain Is Beauty somewhat less than I did when it first came out. But Abyss and Hiss Spun? Fucking awful. I hate those albums, literal 1/5s. I don't know how she had such a drastic quality shift but they weren't good. Glad to hear her do gloomy folk music again that doesn't sound brickwalled to shit, too. First CW CD I've bought since PiB.
