Dearly Departed should've just been Dom & Joba on the track.

PUPPY was supposed to be their next step as a group with Ameer, then Iridescence was them trying to pick up the pieces in time to make their debut with RCA happen, and now GINGER is the funeral of the Brockhampton that we knew. Brockhampton isn't just Ameer, and this is what that album proves to a damn near dead halt. tracks like "DEARLY DEPARTED," "ST. PERCY," and "VICTOR ROBINSON" are the steps that Brockhampton needed to take as a group to recover, in almost a near-perfect matter, as this album is so much more ~"human"~ in comparison to their other releases. This will undoubtedly be overhated because of the lack of sheer "bangers" that the group is known for, but this is Brockhampton's artistic statement as humans, and i can't take this album for any less than it is; this album is human and torn, but unlike any other album that i know of. ez 4.5

if PUPPY was the next step with Ameer, then GINGER is the funeral/aftermath of what Brockhampton could've been with Ameer, and i wouldnt have it any other way. def gonna be a misunderstood record, but it's by far their most consistent and more honest than anything else they've released before. Joba, Kevin, bearface, and especially Dom have perfected their ideas and made the quintessential "BROCKHAMPTON" record, even if it isn't as hard or as hooky as their previous records

this is great stuff

"this is Brockhampton's artistic statement as humans"

drunken misinterpreted soundoff aside, this truly is their most cohesive effort so far. not even close to as how inconsistent Iridescence and especially SATURATION I both were. plus, even though these guys are known for their stellar openers, i think "NO HALO" might be my favorite opener they've recorded. so much genuine emotion, along with standout performances from everyone on the track (especially Merlyn's verse and Matt's vocal deliveries). this one is def more of a subtle, introspective record, and way less ~zAnY qUiRkY W0W~ than their earlier projects sometimes came off as for sure.

it's okay wwf, you can keep that title since i'm the only resident Lil Peep defender on-site, so i’m still preoccupied with that to fully be a BH stan

Dearly Departed sounds like some classic MBDTF shit

Why is the vocal mixing so bad on this album, jesus. I have to actually strain to make out the lyrics against the instrumentals.
