Oke, nice. I prefer their psychedelic shizzle, but this is great too.

my pet peeve here is that every song has one of those guitar "solos" where it's just two-note trills, or tapping, or whatever. They do it in literally every song but it's not good

some of the riffs get a bit too stoner rock for me now but back when i was 13 and still listening to the sword reguarly that wouldnt have bothered me

the metallica homages on this are definitely miles beyond whatever is going on in the world of denim pizza thrash

Okay, this is the first the first album I dared to listen from these guys, and it was pretty good and fun. This is like how Sleep would adapt thrash(?) to their style.

Some of the riffs get a bit monotonous and the vocals are kind of a mixed bag but a lot of the Gizzard-isms elevate it above a lot of low-tier Thrash records. Can see them getting more interesting with this sound if they develop the Thrash influence a bit more and come up with less beat-counting chug riffs. Planet B, Venusian 1, and Hell are hard rippers. Superbug is legitimately awful though. Bay Area worship, stoner production, and weird guitar FXs go pretty cool together.
Dunno how much ill come back to this though
