It's a mess lyrically, and sonically a terrible bore

"hard rock inspired chorus and Swindle spends the majority of ‘Control’ breathing into the listener’s ear as if he is performing indie rock ASMR"

I have a question what does ASMR mean? Saw that word a few times already.

"Autonomous sensory meridian response is an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin..."

The new Sunsleeper album, titled You Can Miss Something and Not Want it Back, is what this band should be, it is 1000000 times better, check it if you need to get this bad taste out of your mouth.

thanks! hopeless has absolutely gone to shit, kicking off good bands and primarily bringing out horrendous records, esp this year

I'm pretty sure that The Earth Pushed Back is just a fluke now.

I’m actually enjoying this album quite a bit. Yeah it’s no TEPB, but it’s not trying to be. It’s a band heading out in a different direction, and while it’s definitely not perfect, it’s certainly not that bad. Their sound on this album kinda reminds me of JEW, and that’s not a bad thing. This band still has a future, but they have to decide on which direction they really want to start taking. I’ve made my peace that I wont be getting a TEPB anymore, but I still see myself enjoying their future works.

I saw them live before this was released and they didn't sound very good live ... still cool to see though I suppose. TEPB was incredible and their sophomore effort was alright, but the rest I just feel bad. Heard somewhere that the singer has vented his frustration publicly at shows for not being able to recreate the magic.

New single ... I thought singer had disbanded. Single was surprisingly pretty good. Better than any of this anyway
