Here's how I look at Sheeran and his music: despite what many think, I believe there is an art to making successful charting pop music over the span of more than a couple of years, because that involves keeping up with pop culture trends and continuously trying to outwit hundreds, thousands of other songwriters who are also trying to ride these trend waves. There is a quality to Sheeran that has kept him relevant for almost a decade now, a damned long time in the pop music world, and I don't think it's as simple as him making inoffensive bland music, because heaven knows how many people have done that without having the same success (both obscure names and pop stars of days gone by). He has an ear for melody, he has a fair bit of natural musical talent (as a singer and as a guitarist), and he clearly captivates people with his live performances, so I also can't agree with the cynical perspective that he's a talentless hack who's simply figured out how to game the system. Even a pop star as enormous as Ed Sheeran isn't immune from having dud singles, and I think his day will come eventually, but for the time being, he's clearly doing something right, and I have to respect that.
Just my two cents though.

100%.
He’s still pretty boring tho. For a pop-star, he doesn’t have much natural charisma. That’s what I want if I’m listening to radio-pop: charisma.

I wish to punch ed sheeran in the face

Giving this a token listen. The almost 50-minute runtime does not spark joy so far.

I think he has a respectable amount of charisma tbh but I think it manifests itself in a different way than most pop stars, so I can easily see how it's lost on a lot of people

Antisocial is kind of hilarious. Dangerous tumultuous Sheeran is a mood.

He makes boring simple music for boring simple people and most of the hate is that you hear his music constantly wherever you go

don't feel the charisma either [2]

This is shopping mall music, as simple as that. Meaningless drivel.

Most of the songs on here suck/forgettable af (the Chance "feature" is a major let down), but Take Me Back to London and Remember the Name are actually dope. Best song Em has been involved with in a hot minute
