I thought the debut was 1 worthy. This should be good.

Inhave a soft spot for this band as they were one of my favourites a couple years back when I was going through my metalcore phase. On first listen I thaught this was quite fun but I’ll have to give it another go

I haven’t even listened to their previous album, and I don’t know if I really want to listen to this one.

Creatures was admittedly pretty cool. But these guys fell off haaaaard after that.

You are indeed lucky. Band has always been trash.

I dig Creatures, even though songs like Immaculate Misconception are just downright, grade-F, hot trash

Edit: so I just looked up that song to make sure it was the one I was thinking off, and, yep, as soon as that WHAT THE FUCK breakdown hit I started laughing my ass off. Tracks like that hold that album back majorly

this is probably their second-best below Reincarnate for me tbh

These guys missed the chance for their big break in the 90s. They feel like they’re in the wrong decade and outdated. And so many songs sound like shameless Manson rip offs (even from just the little I’ve heard of these guys).

I personally love this album, I connect with all the songs I've listened to so far but my favorite is another life and thoughts and prayers. Not a perfect 10 but a solid 9/10

I'm not surprised that the ratings so far are bad, but I thought they would at least be higher than Graveyard Shift, which is one of the worst albums I've ever heard. Well, a couple of tracks were pretty good and the rest was either bad or unlistenable. This one seems to be a fairly sizable step forward. It only really has one truly terrible track, Death Inc. But at least they didn't do another Dead As F*ck. I don't really see the appeal in listening to music about having sex with a dead person, but maybe that's just me.

Also the Manson influences don't seem to be quite as strong with this one as they were on Reincarnate. This seems to be a pretty even mix of modern metalcore and some 90's influences (NIN, Manson and Slipknot/nu metal). If that sounds appalling to you, chances are you'll really hate it!

I also feel like Holding on to Smoke and Another Life could have both come straight off a Breaking Benjamin record. They tend to have one or two tracks that sound like them on each album as well. Also Undead Ahead 2 could have come off an Ice Nine Kills record. They just don't seem to hide their influences very well.

Like wow - how short-sighted a review. Get over the desperate need to be trendy and relevant!!

This album is fairly close to the best release of the year for me, any band or genre. The production quality is high, meaning it sounds amazing on decent hifi and it just makes me want to completely rock out, in a very traditional "horns-to-the-sly" kind of way.

Huge breakdowns, fantastic lyrics (yup, they are a million times better than some metal rubbish - thoughtful could be the word) massive hooks, and still heavy AF while managing to branch out from standard metalcore without ruining their sound or alienating their fans (Parkway Drive take note).

I'd give it an easy 8.

Oh, and I'm a 38 year old father of 2, who loves everything from MIW to Ed Sheeran.
