“Would argue those are what lend to the album's cohesion: QWERTY Interlude bridges the semi-serious fronting on GTFU and the comedic fronting on Jailbreak the Tesla. Would be awkward as hell without it, IMO. Likewise, Rap Song Tutorial makes the shift between the goofy front-half and """serious""" back-half far less jarring than it should be.”
See I think they achieved this stuff on past projects with out the use of these tracks just fine. “Bad Boys 3” —> “All This Money” didn’t need a glitched out half verse from a rapper that isn’t Groggs or Ritchie to bridge the gap between them in spite of both being of the same hard seriousness -> comedic fronting template... and I really really don’t believe “What a Year It’s Been” and “Best Seat...” needed any kind of transition either since they both carry similar themes of “making it” and the issues that stem from it, let alone sixty seconds or Ritchie moaning. Maybe it’s their way of setting this “album” apart from their “mixtapes” (though I could of swore Floss was supposed to be their debut) and if that’s so I think they overthought it. I guess I’ll agree with you in regards to “Rap Song Tutorial”’s purpose/placement but I’d still rather have a full song in it’s place, or maybe only four steps on how to make a rap song and then a full on “Bad Boys 3” type track bookended by Ritchie’s “tutorial” hook. I just don’t see how that track as is has any appeal past the first couple listens, it’s too novel.

I do think the contrast is far more stark on a GTFU / Jailbreak the Tesla, but I get that for sure. I think, though, it's a sonic thing as well as a conceptual one: it helps that QWERTY ties into Jailbreak's gimic, but it also acts as a bit of a breather from GTFU's insane ending. It's akin, perhaps, to Channel Orange's brief interludes (albeit less conceptual). I'll also disagree about What a Year / Best Seat -- for sure both are reflections on fame, the whole back-end seems to be, but the space provided is important: I think the worst thing about Dentist's Office is the tktv / Falling combo. Greats songs that end up blending into one drawn-out piece, I think.
That said, I like the interludes here and wouldn't distinguish them (apart from Rap Tutorial, of course) at all if it weren't for the fact that they were separate tracks. Totally get why you wouldn't like them. They're not necessary, they just help.

“Listened to this once and it kinda cringed me out”
This is my least favorite take that gets thrown at these guys. They exude that same youthfulness and corny playfulness of an early 90s group (tho maybe a little less so on here) and I think it’s only seen as a fault because we’re in the late 2010s where everything is generally harder/edgier and the production is super modernized and not just some Thelonious Monk loop with James Brown drums under it that screams “old school”.

idk man I kinda agree with people calling these guys corny but I feel like on here it has a lot more self awareness and that goes a long way imo. Floss, on the other hand though, I felt really suffered from a bit of cheese n corn.

@Neeka -- hard to tell, our tastes in hip hop seem to differ quite a bit, would recommend though!!! Give Jawbreaker a listen, I reckon, it's a good representative. And let me know what you think.

in the final calculation I feel like this album is a little interesting, a little lame too. rico and freddie kill it enough that the other verses by the actual members sort of pale in comparison. production and hooks fine
