I suspected you wouldn't like this, but yeah I would say it's in the more milder side of the tech death realm, but for me the tech part isn't the thing that sells me the most. I overall just find these songs enjoyable just on a surface level first and foremost, and then the tech realm of their sound is the cherry on top. I also am a big fan of their melodies but I see why some may find it too overindulgent in this area. I also appreciate on this album the solo's aren't overly wanky.

Called it.
The latest Beyond Creation is my fav tech death as of late, but this comes close

Definitely think Inferi is one of the best high octane tech death bands around, although Beyond Creation is good too

Man Inferi is top fucking tier. Imo best tech is probably Nile, Archspire, Allegaeon and Inferi.

First Fragment, Quo Vadis, Spawn of Possession (Cabinet) & Necrophagist have made my fave 'tech' albums.
It's a weird descriptor though, as gauging technicality isn't an exact science, in fact it's barely quantifiable. Do Revocation count? What about Demilich, or even Atheist? They could be considered as such, but often aren't. I guess the last two are older bands, so it doesn't fit the modern idea of what tech constitutes.

I'd say all the bands you mentioned are tech imo, but aren't considered by some do to the more eccentric elements that bands like Athiest and Demilich incorporate.
I think tech has more to do with straight forward DM with complex songwriting and less of an emphasis on experimenting with nontraditional elements.

this is one of the most enjoyable, dynamic tech death albums to date. I find myself becoming fatigued even by some of the classics these days. Where other albums feel flat, lifeless with way too much purposeless shred and dweedle, I find myself being pulled back to this one.

I agree, this one sounds so fresh and bouncy for some reason

Hell yea. This band has a catchy driving bounce feel that I haven't seen anyone else do.

Demon, check the band sunless rise.
|
| |
Yeah if you only check the EP
|

Not a fan of the LP?
|
| |
Not at all. They went all metalcoreish and the produciton is terrible compared to the EP
|
| |
My only complaint on the production of that record is whatever amp setting they do the solos on, bit cartoony and power-metal-ish, otherwise its a stellar gem of an album imo.

I think I'm enjoying this one the most in comparison to their others.
|

I always thought all their albums sound the same, but yeah this one is easily their best
