Lol Atari

That PUP album also sounds a lot like Sum 41 ;-)

Nah but for real I hear ever so slight vocal similarities but otherwise this is in an entirely separate league of skill.

I’m mostly teasing at this point but Blue October actually rule so it’s not really an insult! They put out a pretty good album last year

also I’m fine with that as long as you’re talking about Does This Look Infected era Sum 41, lol

Haha I love Blue October and Sum 41 so yeah...mostly just teasing on this end as well.

Any Man in America remains my favorite BO and Chuck will always be the gold standard for Sum 41 in my book

Oof. “Don’t Settle” might be enough to bump this up to a 4.5. Easily in my top 3 songs of the year. I have such a weak spot for songs that build into cacophony like that.

I almost skipped out on this because of the summary. That would have been a mistake.

what's wrong with the summary? (genuinely curious if there's something there that's turning people off from trying this!)

Also, @dmathias, 'Don't Settle' is definitely my early favorite from this.

"traditional Irish troubadour folk" is what leapt out to me making me think this was NPR-core for the 50+ crowd

My fault honestly but I dismissed it at first glance.

yeah I guess what I wanted to stress (and probably didn't do so successfully) was the evolution part; neeka nailed it when he called it post-folk

Okay, two songs in, both v impressive. Did not expect that emotional outburst at the end of don't settle.

Yup. Album is full of unexpectedly impactful moments (esp. the heavier first half)

This is something truly special guys. Weight of the World is seriously a contender for top ten song of the decade.

Absolutely loving this record. Might be a contender for AOTY.
