bit too much whoop on this for me

Come on men let’s not get carried away here

This album is great, I just miss the unrestrained moments from their last two records. This is definitely their most hooky record to date though.

Kids has been stuck in my head since they dropped it. hooky af.
and agreed that the "picture of my kid and it's the first day of school!" line is absolutely chilling. they've had some great lyrics in the past but that track is a new high. Scorpion's music also aligns really well with the lyrics (which sometimes hasn't really been the case - Sleep in the Heat, for example). definitely the album's peak for me. great review!

is that because it's about a lizard?

Raw moments are definitely few and far between here.
On Free At Last I love where his voice is starting to breakup where he sings
IT WAS TWENTY BELOW, AND YOU WERE SHAY-AY-AYYYYY-KING
I'm happy with the album but I do wish there were more of those moments.

Scorpion Hill > Bare Hands > Kids > Morbid Stuff > City > Free At Last > Closure > See You At Your Funeral > Bloody Mary Kate And Ashley > Full Blown Meltdown > Sibling Rivalry. Banger of a record.

I take umbrage with your placement of Sibling Rivalry. It's in contention for my favorite PUP song ever.

Yeah, Sibling Rivalry gets a lot of love here, but not a standout for me. Agreed with ButtBoy though, everything is at LEAST a 3-3.5 territory and only goes up. Not a bad song on this thing.

City and Sibling Rivalry are probably my two favorites tbh. SY@YF and Bloody Mary might be next two though.

fuck that rating, sy@yf rocks.
intro and closure are in skip territory atm for me... Also, it's kinda sad, tbh: i really can't pretend like i listen to this 1st track and i get pumped up, and that's a shame. Albums with sub-par 1st tracks really are missing something.

the opener has grown on me. it definitely doesn't hit immediately like last album, but it still fits the album as a whole. it also sounds like it could be the closer if they had chosen.

not quite as immediate as the dream is over for me, definitely took a few proper listens to wrap my head around this album but it's v. good. opener, "scorpion hill", "bare hands" and "city" are probably my favorites right now. i love how those last couple of tracks sequence together.

Does anyone else have the feeling that all the songs released prior to the album, kinda ruin the experience of listening to the album as a whole.
It is like, oh this song is cool, then, I've heard it, listened to this to much, skip, then, oh another new song.
Don't get me wrong it's still a great album, but i don't get the same feels as i did when i listened to PUP-PUP .
