wasn't impressed by the first half but it got notably stronger "safety net" onwards. will keep listening

it does blend together a tad but i think its more of a product of consistency rather than monotony

This is pretty good, I dig it more when she's doing sophisti-pop than indie rock though. The skits are kinda useless as such things usually are. The "Heat Rises"-"Melt" duo is my fave on first few spins.

It kinda drops off after "Safety Net" but everything up to then is really good.

Yeah? I have to give it another spin, I remember it being pretty uniformly great

The interludes are kinda unecessary imo. Songs are mostly very good. May bump the rating.
|

most interludes are unnecessary, dunno why artists are so fond of them

Fuck it, bumped. That Sax solo on Melt is just too sweet. Just gotta delete the interludes to save the flow of the album.

I don't think the interludes are really that bothersome on here compared to others of the genre

I admit it's a pet peeve of mine. I think the momentum comes to a screeching halt with every interlude.

there were a bit too many mid-tempo tracks that went nowhere on this for me. that combined with the skits (which i just found silly) made it a pretty underwhelming listen overall, despite some nice singles and great vocals.

i do agree that there could be a bit more variety here
