I believe I still have my live version of the tour leading up to this. This is a great album albeit not measuring up to Killers IMHO.

When I look at the track list I think maybe my mark is a bit harsh as, apart from Charlotte, there isn't a bad or even mediocre track on here. However, I don't find myself listening to this album nearly as much as other Maiden ones generally because the production ruins great songs such as POTO which are much better in their live incarnations. Glad I finally got to see Running Free live last year though!

Essential.
A strong influence to thousands of bands like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Helloween...and the list goes on and on...

nice review i like the album as this is where the beast started to wake, when thinking about what to rate it though is hard as we need to bare inmind that it was 1979 production was not as slick and a few of the songs do sound dated but the classics are just that.so im going to rate this a 4 back in the day it would probably been 4.5 5 maybe still a great record and worth to revisit and have a listen
