I hadn't heard it til now
Song sounds like HCDR/AYDY era CoB though which I can get behind. How has this band been around for so long and flown completely under my radar?

Their stuff is pretty good but used to be a different direction because it was Janne's (CoB's keyboardist) side project. I'm surprised their coverage is nearly nonexistant here (3 reviews for the last album?).

Yeah when I first opened the video I thought it was a new band formed as a follow-up to CoB (the copycat Laiho guitar seemed like a bit much too tbh) but turns out I was way off there

Up until this new song Warmen has just been instrumental neoclassical shred. It's a bit of an exhausted sound, but sounds like they are going full songwriting band under the Warmen moniker which is interesting. I'll likely check it, but those lyrics to that song are pretty weird tbh given the history of COB and Alexi's passing:
"Driving all night, D.U.I. – he never cares for no-one else
With a ’96 turbo-charged rear-wheel drive
This knucklehead won’t survive for long"
"Reckless to the bone, well-known to implode
The terror of the streets – the lowest of the low
The German-made steel now wrapped around a tree
An all-nighter made him unleash hell..."

Yeah, I'm listening to the first Warmen album and it's got some great moments but overall it feels like it's lacking actual memorable riffs to go along with the (great) keyboard work and there's a hollowness there on the songs without any vocals (meanwhile the songs with them seem to veer more towards power metal than melodeath which isn't my preference). I don't think this style is ideal for purely instrumental work.
And yeah, well spotted on those lyrics... Those do read really oddly given how Laiho passed + the recent break-up of CoB

Those lyrics are probably not a coincidence but I doubt its supposed to be disrespectful given how obviously they're trying to be/celebrate him. Alexi continued to drink knowing he would die from it, which is traumatizing to have watched over.
