"Covenant", god.

Covenant is pretty good, but that ending of Martyrs gets me every time.

decent prog album, kinda typical and kinda samey at points but still good

it was surprisingly good. They're finally more than just an Opeth/Tool cross-over

SPIRIT OF THE WAAATEER

Oh shit, tx for the feature!
|

This album is fucking amazing. In my opinion, this is their best overall. There is not a single weak song. I would say that Covenant, River, Lascivious, and Lunacy are my favorites if I had to pick.

The fact that the review summary ends with finest instead of best really aggravates me.
Could of had a cheesy rhyme.
|

Thanks DD, and granns, ngl, I thought about it but the cheese was overwhelming.

sounds like a weaker version of Lykaia to me
|
| |
The production on 'The Great Cold Distance' is mixed so well. Easily Katatonia's strongest album.
|
| |
"sounds like a weaker version of Lykaia to me"
It has more quiet parts indeed, but I think it's more tasteful and balanced than Lykaia in that sense.
|
| |
Incredible record! More than anything, I love the vocal melodies!
