100% agree Lucman. You can go all the way back and listen to something like “California” from Beneath Medicine Tree and then listen to “Pope” and still be able to know it’s the same band even though, sonically, they’re wildly different. They’ve hinted at making an album like this for a while, with songs like “Last Time He Saw Dory” or the oboe in “Not So Tough Found Out” or any of the experimenting from Ixora, and it really culimantes in the lush wall of instrumental variety and experimentation across this whole album.

Absolutely. Been returning to In Motion and it almost surprised me how well some of those songs could fit on here (Sleep especially).

@Neek: Even if this weren't one of my all-time favourite bands this would still be a high 4.5-5. It's one of those albums that just seeps under your skin more with every listen.

Doesn't seem like an album you can really get a feel for after just one spin. That said, it does have some immediacy and the whole package is presented beautifully.

The first time I listened to it was at like 1:00am after a night out the night it got released. Laid in bed and listened as I fell asleep, but it had me hooked. Would recommend a variety of listening experiences.

I slightly prefer Colorless. Strange Flowers is definitely second best for me. There's not a song on here that doesn't have a perfect moment. Even 'It Felt So Real', which is little more than an interlude, blows my mind.

I wanted to like Pope but got the most colossal not-my-jam feelings it didn't seem worth forcing a listen through the rest of it :[

Nice can't wait to read that Lucman.

Also I need to reiterate to my _owbro from another consonant that this review is downright brilliant, one of my favorite pieces from you ever, and that it comes closer to doing this album justice than I ever could have.
