"I'm not so sure, although I think Platinum has a lot of employees, so maybe it's like one big team. I'm not certain if they're all separated."

well my hunch (and to be fair a lot of people have come to the same conclusion) is that if they're often working on multiple games at the same time, and some of the games released in similar timeframes are good and the others not so good, there's a good chance that they don't share the exact same devs

anyway doesnt matter, i just hope its good

"how many levels do you go though? like if a genre is niche to begin with, is a classic of that genre not obscure just because everyone who likes that genre knows about it?"
It depends, I usually just look at how popular it is in general and not only in one site. Like, in this site you could even say that Mozart is obscure, but saying that would be kind of absurd, don't you think?

It has to be. Kamiya is supervising and he has never, never made a bad game... Well, I haven't played Incredible Toons, but other than that, he has never made a bad game.

i think thats a good way of looking at it

honestly im shocked to read now that vanquish has even sold somewhere around a million copies, it's definitely far less prevalent in actual online discussion

I'd say vanquish is just forgotten at this point. sometimes forgotten and obscure are one and the same to me

I'm hopeful for Astral Chain. Kamiya supervising it and one of Nier Automata's directors on board has me optimistic. Then again, I'm hype for pretty much 3/4 of what Platinum announces nowadays. They're probably one of my favorites alongside the likes of Atlus, Arc System Works, Namco, etc.

I'm 100% sure that there many, many, many cases where fantastic games don't get enough attention. Some never got it, some just faded into obscurity after some tie.

It’s a given a lot of great games will never see the light of day given how saturated the market is. Kinda makes me the big sad

Threw together a list this morning that briefly touches on awakening, gonna post it after work.

I haven't played the game in yeeeeaaars but wasn't Kirby an enemy in one of the later dungeons? Always thought the Mario and other crossover stuff in the game was neat
