"I generally much prefer "direct"/narrative style lyrics to more abstract stuff." -- Yeah, I definitely sympathise with that. I do think theapparent lack of coherence here has its charm (and does belie a fairly coherent "narrative", ultimately), but yeah, that's more than fair.

I may prefer this to any of Big Thief's records as a consistent listen. Every song brings something uniquely ethereal, she is fast becoming one of my favourite guitarists.

Actually started with instrumentals and it’s gorgeous so far. Even get a slight William Tyler vibe at times so maybe you’ll dig it more ;) it’s quite restrained but such a nice atmosphere
