@xfearbefore
If you didn't like their last 2 or 3 albums HIGHLY doubt you'll like this
@Spec
No, this doesn't at all touch Is A Real Boy then again nothing tops a Manic Depressive Max Bemis. When he became happy it showed in his music XD

I was listening to it a while back when it first leaked. Didn't really care that much for it. I found it VERY boring for the most part. The narrative sounded like it was sniffing its own farts the entire length of the runtime. On top of all that he calls it a sequel to Is a Real Boy. Which...just....no....fuck no.

Will definitely check this one out. Nice review.

Personally I thought "I Don't Think It Is" was better than this and that album extremely underwhelming. "17 Coked Up and Speeding" is a jam though

I Don't Think It Is is one of the worst albums released in the last decade period.
This is like a 3.7. Pleasant enough, just not spectacular. The highlights on Hebrews are better than the highlights here imo, but this is pretty consistently enjoyable throughout.

Well.... I simply disagree. Didn't think it was THAT bad. This one is definitely more boring imo.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mock you for it (but I won't).

This is absolutely nothing like their last few albums lmao, regardless of quality. It literally sounds completely different.

It feels intellectually and emotionally honest which has been lacking for awhile.

I mean whatever you can disagree if you want. I don't really care all that much. Personally, I hated Hebrews too. Which seems to get quite a bit of unjust defense on here. I found that album pretty terrible. I'll say this was at least better than that garbage.

That's all well and fine but how does "if you didn't like this thing that is absolutely nothing like this, you definitely won't like this" make any sense?

I never got the hate for I Don't Think It Is either. I thought "So Numb" was a fantastic song.

This is a awkward clumsy and over the top album, just like the s/t and in the defence of the genre. I dig.

That cover is pretty ass though, looks like a parody of an early 00s emo album

Cover looks like the cover of a Circa Survive B-sides release from 2008.
I'm excited to give this a listen. I first discovered Say Anything on this very side, ten years ago when the self-titled was released and the first review was posted up. I like the first song I sampled that morning at college, so I promptly decided to skip class. I went down to the common area of that building, bought a pita and some coffee, and proceeded to play 8 hours of World of Warcraft while looping their S/T. I think I spent months listening to that one almost non-stop.
Not huge into the genre anymore but I still have a soft spot for these guys.
