I agree that this album absolutely fucking sucks and I would much rather have their generic metalcore sound than hear Oli try too hard to sound like a pop artist. The people that like this album were dropped on their head. I hated the last album, thought it was a complete LP ripoff, but the only way to go is down from Sempiternal. They just went so far down that the derivative electronic beats from Sempiternal and That's the Spirit became songs with the most bland and cliche lyrics I have heard. The first time I heard Mantra and Medicine, I almost threw my phone. This review though is cancer and needs to be banished with fire. Make a legit 1/5 review, not some bullshit I could write up in 2 minutes while doing an all-night bender.

Nah this is pretty decent. I like edm and pop tho so -shrugs- I think they executed the style pretty well. Yeah, I’d still rather have Sempiternal, but I love when bands radically change their sound and still put out solid material.

Yeah I’m pleasantly surprised to the max. Was feeling a 1.5-2 based purely off the singles, but everything comes together very well. Most of the edm-like moments on here really shine.

I just simply cannot get past the Linkin Park ripoff sound. It sounds like the worst of LP's catalog, but at least it isn't as bad as One More Light, but it is hard to not be as bad as the worst rock album of the last 5 years. I don't find the EDM on here to be innovate or original. It is boring.

I just don’t get that argument at all because I fucking DESPISE Linkin park’s albums that could be considered similar (see ats or living things). If it is a rip-off, it’s a substantially more effective one.

Sorry kiddos, you’re both wrong.
A Thousand Suns is LP’s best album and this cannot be debated.

Thrones from That's the Spirit is a direct rip-off of Faint by LP.
Hybrid Theory x1,000,000 > A Thousand Suns
Grant it, I also played Hybrid Theory to death at least 5,000 times. I remember when the album came out as a child and I remember how much I hated Minutes to Midnight and it got worse with A Thousand Suns and then Living Things was even worse until they tried to sound good again on The Hunting Party. Then they piss away any progression they made with The Hunting Party by releasing One More Light, the worst rock album of the last 5 years. BMTH Amo is listenable compared to One More Light. I don't care if Chester killed himself in part to the negative reaction from One More Light, it is still a shit album and his death doesn't change it sadly.
