St. Anger was literally one of the first 5 songs I heard by them

I'm a big fan of the trash can aesthetic tbh, I've always been a big proponent of incorporating more garbage can lids in modern drumming. In fact I've been saying for years they should just replace Lars with a trash can.

Hey man, there are 2 good Mushroomhead albums.
And yeah, the most offensive part of that era were when established metal bands tried to be nu and it was just horrible and embarrassing and all of their worst albums.
Also agree with all of those awesome bands you listed in the beginning.

I'm a fan of first 2 albums by Mushroomhead and Otep.

Lol there will never be a nu metal revival, agreed. That is only for a very specific time in history with the goofy costumes, gimmicks, and all that jazz.

In 2017 I was talked into checking Korn (which I kinda blindly hated until now) and I ended up jamming the entire studio discog and it actually ruled hard a lot of the time so anything can happen at this point

People are way too lenient on the last 2, just because the 3 before that were utter trash.

Well I think The Paradigm Shift is possibly the most solid (not necessarily best) album in the discography if you don't hate Never Never. They didn't try to be as ~serious~ as possible in that one and it paid off in spades musically. They were having fun hard

There's only like 3 songs I enjoy on that one. It did not hold up at all for me.
|

I actually don't hate Paradigm Shift but I DO hate Path of Totality and the several other forgettable non dubstep albums after Untouchable.

Blows my mind that Korn III isn't considered their best since who knows when
|
| |
Oh shit yeah Korn III is underrated, I remember that being fun

that ones a contender for worst album of the bunch

I'm sure I'm becoming annoying with the Korn "edgy" opinions but I'm simply caught in the surprise factor. I was sure I'd hate them but I binged them so hard defying consensus after consensus. Like Korn III gets always trashed for being boring but then I click a random song and it's Pop a Pill and I'm like dude what this slays, the bouncy riffs, the drumming, the warm production, the vox, the final climax that just bangs etc

It gets trashed because it's the most forced attempt at a 'return-to-form' ever. That album was grasping so hard to recapture something long gone, it was painful.
|
| |
Yea, Korn III was like "Hey people hated the garbage Untitled, let's get Ross Robinson and try to write a bunch of Life is Peachy B-Sides!" It sucked. So forced.
