I do like a decent bit of rap. Not my normal cup of tea admittedly, but I enjoy it. When it's done this poorly and implemented terribly, however, I can't say I'm a fan.

I expected to not dig because of the excessive downtuning I was warned about but that was easy to get past.

They just gotta tinker with their formula before they hit the right one.

I thought this was really good.

It has fun songs and they're clearly capable musicians, they just need to stop doing dumb cringey stuff and focus on what actually works. I think they're capable of making a really great album, though I'm not convinced that they will.

Listened to this again and am liking it even more

I think overall they take a lot of risks stylistically, and honestly if I had to guess (and this is knowing nothing at all about the band as people) it might just be that they are much less afraid to pull from a variety of influences.
Imo, some songs like Lost in Forever are absolute juggernauts while some others are just a little too all over the place for my taste. They seem like good dudes though, so I'm happy they've got a solid following. And anyone who doesn't think they absolutely have the technical chops to be at the top of the game needs to have their ears checked.

Yeah credit where credit is due, this actually does quite a few things right. Not the biggest fan of the rap parts but it really doesn't take a ton away in my opinion. Devilcry is such a banger.
