Echoing some of the sentiments about the production, but the songs themselves are really good.

Not a 5 but a good review none the less POS. Glad to see AFI still at it and Davy still sounds great. Production was one thing I didn't like about this and Adams fills have been better in the past nothing special here. Good review .

EP rules. Back into the Sun needs some time to grow on me but there's not a bad track on here. Get Dark is still my favorite. Everything from the way the drums and rhythm kick back in during the bridge, that tasty solo, and the way that solo ends is just fucking awesome.

Title track is also really good and while I do think it's ambitious, to me it also sounded similar to 6 to 8 off of Art of Drowning.

But that's the great thing about AFI. They keep changing things up on every subsequent release but they always still sound like AFI at the core.

Totally agree about Get Dark, the bridge, the solo, the fills. It's good. I don't think T/t sounds like 6-8 at all though. If anything it's closer to some of the slow songs on Blood like Feed From The Floor, The Wind and She Speaks The Language. Really they've been messing with a softer sound for a while now, I want to hear more of that.

In all honesty, I think I prefer Blood. Trash Bat is a banger and a half, but I don't think the rest of this EP is all that memorable. All the songs are solid, but I'm by no means floored.

I just wish they would have continued on the direction they went on Crash Love. One of their strongest releases to date

Crash Love is really underappreciated.

I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here and Cold Hands are probably some of my least favorite AFI songs but songs like Torch Song, End Transmission, and Okay, I Feel Better Now are some of my absolute favorites. The B-Sides are also some of the best material that AFI have ever produced.

@Bubs Hell yeah, glad to see someone agrees this is best since Crash Love

@LightChaotic My apologies! read a little too quickly and didnt see that track specifically called out (probably due to us both just refering to it as the t/t

What the hell do you guys all see as so experimental and different though with this album? I feel like it treads all familiar ground (aside from the t/t of course). Maybe you are all only talking about the t/t ...

there’s nothing experimental about this it’s just exciting to hear davey write a fucking decent hook again, something blood greatly suffered from
