Very nice review Dewi... Never thought I'd be interested in a less layered, less dreamy, Daughter album, but I'm really liking this. The only thing I don't like is the release date. There's not enough time to settle on a final rating before the year ends.

I am still surprised 4AD let her get away with releasing in November or maybe the label decided but yeah, a bit tight for lists already. It fits the weather though.

Nov 30 is quite opportune though, same day that 1975 dropped their blockbuster for all the critics to pounce on and declare aoty.

I fell into the trap as well, curiosity got to me in the end... think I just wanted to be able to categorically disagree because based on my previous fleeting experiences with the band, I knew it would likely suck.
