Biggest weakness of this is probably that the guitar tone sometimes sounds a bit harsh when playing chords on the high strings

I like this pretty much...the setback for me is that it becomes a little too spastic towards the end in some tracks.

They are on a US tour with Psycroptic and Micawber. All amazing bands.
It will always been one of the best shows I ever went to.
I mean simply technically speaking, can anyone even touch Gorod?

There are more technical bands, such as Archspire, but Gorod is undoubtedly great tech, their sound is quite unique and distinctive

I didn’t want to say Archspire because I couldn’t connect with them, but yeah they count I guess.

Ah yes fair fair to the question. But I should have included songwriting as part of the equation. IMO First Fragment is both more blasty and yet more smooth with the consistent neoclassical leads. And Archspire (at least their newest album, not as familiar with their other material) has really easy to grasp song structures. With Gorod their playing seems a little more spacious but with very surprising harmony and structure, leading more into prog territory. Basically, I can be more enticed by the flow of things rather than the parts themselves more easily.
Not that I'm really trying to have a competition. The more tech the better I say!
Safe to say I'm stoked to see Archspire, Virvum, and Inferi in a few weeks too. Now if only First Fragment would come around!

Gorod most interesting element are the eclectic harmonies, especially when they bring that cool Latin America vibe, no other band does it like Gorod

Its just a solid clean tech death with a progressive flair, Captain. Nothing revolutionary or thought provoking, just a fun record to jam to.

In the past, with Leading Vision and A Perfect Absolution, yes. I'm not trying to slag on their songwriting skills and technical capabilities; Gorod always shows restrains in the later department which is why I like them.
