It's guilty of not sounding anywhere near as good as Sleepwalking

That's probably true. (Sleepwalking is the only one I haven't heard everything off of)

But honestly, I don't see how this is truly a 1 when you disconnect it from all their previous work.

It's generic, and boring, and it felt like it took forever to get through. Also, Watch Out and that song with Andy Mineo are cringey as fuck

Really, because it whizzed through real quick for me. After all, it is their shortest full-length. Watch Out is pretty forgettable, and Heavy Is the Weight's pretty decent.

Aside from that, your analysis reads much more like a 1.5 or a 2 than a full-on 1. But maybe that's just my generosity with less favorable records striking again. After all, I gave Madness from All That Remains a 2, and it would've been a 2.5 if not for two especially awful songs.

It felt like a slog, my patience has worn thin with this band and no it is broken. I wouldn't be surprised if they broke up soon due to the last couple albums not doing well.

Seriously, Rise did nothing to promote this. They promoted the hell out of DGD this year though.

Appropriate album name tbh.

Maybe the last album flopping caused Mullins to rein in the ego a bit, after all this album seems a bit more introspective lyrically.

@josh: lol

Nah, people who have met him recently have said him and Kellen are still douchebags are the other two guys are just along for the ride.

These guys don't even draw big crowds anymore.

Well fuck. Guess I better retract this review and give it a 1.

...just kidding. I'm not that quick to flip on a rating like that. LOL

I'm not rating it on their douchiness.

This shit is just bad.

Honestly, I'd be lucky if whatever I decide to drop breaks a 2 on your scale since it's clearly not going to be your style.

One of the most 2.5 things to ever exist.

I'm not even mad. There's some highlights here, but it'd probably be a 2.5 if You and Me or the opener didn't exist.

Mullins' voice is good enough to carry this to being average, a lesser singer and this'd be like a 1.5 imo

I think at worst this would be a 2.

Matty's voice isn't anywhere as good as it used to be, and his screams sound weak as fuck now.

Age will do that to you. Even Rob Halford isn't 100% although he's aged surprisingly well.
