you're literally making genres up lol it's played on alt radio, alt rock has a broad spectrum, NIN for instance is an alt rock staple on most stations yet they're more industrial than anything on their first few records, still alt rock I'd argue in a broad radio dynamics term.

The songs aren't even necessarily that in your face awful, it's just that they are so...uneventful. Like nothing is happening or occurring during them to the point where it's like too easy to just tune it out.
