has anyone else realized that you can sing R. Kelly's "Ignition" to "Rendezvous" and it fits perfectly

musically this isnt even really that bad (except for the like two songs where it really is) but what was the point of writing an album literally about being in saves the day

None of this makes sense. Why did they make an album about themselves? Do they think telling fans they love them and want to see them again will really make them go to their shows? I'm glad this review exists so I didn't need to make a grand comeback after only ever reviewing their ST. I still might review this as it pisses me off. But then I'd probably have to listen to it again. I really don't want to do that. At least 1997 is inoffensive. This cannot be said of the rest of the album. There are so many recycled lyrics all over the place on this thing. I thought I wanted a new STD album, but this proves that not everything that you want is worth it. This just sucks.
ANYWAY, good review man.

I don't know what they were thinking here. I'll give the 20 minute song some credit but the rest is garbage. I love Saves The Day. But the fire is gone. I know Chris has finally had the same lineup for a long time which is nice to see But the shot to the heart was losing Dave Soloway way back when. I think he helped Chris form a lot of songs and never got enough credit. I don't know what to say here, but man I feel like I wasted my money.

Eben was a big lost too. Sound The Alarm was awesome tho w/o Eben. But no doubt, best line up was "Stay What You Are" lineup

when i saw them live like 13 yrs ago someone from the balcony splashed a few drops of their drink on the guitarist and he acted like they poisoned his dog. chris flipped out and called her a fat bitch. they were fucking terrible, too.

Imagine listening to the atrocity of the Self-Titled album, then thinking "interesting experiment, but I'm sure they'll right the ship with the next release, then waiting 5 years and getting 9 as a result

Agreed - ever since Eban left and that guy from Glassjaw took over, it's been all downhill. There are a couple interesting tracks thrown about on Sound the Alarm, Under the Boards, Daybreak, and s/t, but the last "solid" album these guys released was 'In Reverie.'
