This went from #3 on trending to off the list real quick. Brutal.
This grew on me kinda, but I understand why some folks don't dig this. Surface's Echoes is awesome though.
3.5 feels the safest rating for now. Let's see if it grows more with the days...

Yeah I sort of had the same feelings, 3,5 is a good settling point I think

Ah, brackets. I'll try to remember that.
The sentence in question is a fragment, so if you aren't trying to connect it to the one following, then you need to connect it to the one before it.

I find their previous little more interesting, but that's solid too.

I remember liking this when I listened to it a few times last year. Gotta spin it again.

Yeah this is pretty tight. Bit of a Portal 2 sequel effect though. Doesn't have the same impact as the first albums despite being superior overall.

MAAAAAAN if you guys get a shot, see them live. First saw them in ~2014 when they were touring the album before this. The live mixing was just trash. Couldn't hear a thing. But I just saw them last night with a good sound guy, and it was a night/day difference. Perfection. Maybe the most entertaining bass performance I've ever seen. Felt less like watching a bassist, and a lead guitarist, and a rhythm guitarist, and more like watching 3 guys with guitars who each took the lead every now and then depending on what the song needed. But the bass playing stole the show obviously. It's nice to hear it as crisp as you do on record, but live.

All about dat bass

Fuck man it was mesmerizing watching his fingers spider up and down the board, it was so precise and fat sounding, love it

Not sure what's better, this or new Allegaeon

Surface's Echoes intro sounds right out of an Animals As Leaders album

It's okay. They keep progressively losing me. Yes, I'm one of those oddballs that like the so called "misgivings" of the genre."
The more "musical" as you call it they get, it tends to just start to sound like more deathy than tech-deathy. easier listening's for those just not about it to me ears. Meh
