@Drifter: Glad to see you enjoy it. I put a lot of this in the same box as tracks like "Niki FM" from the debut Hawthorne Heights album.

God that song is so dated... "I'M OUTSIDE OF YOUR WINDOW... WITH MY RADIOOOOO"

Hard 5, always will be. Also, the instrumentals clearly serve a purpose on this album.

And the instrumentals are only there to extend the runtime, hence why they're both based on one repeating clause lmao

How can a pop punk album be pretentious? Are you talking about his lyrics? They don't even make sense how can they be pretentious lmao

They literally sound like he was searching for the largest words that could reasonably fit in a line to sound smarter lmfao how is it not pretentious? Also they tried so hard to be different from the pack.

I dont think anyone really sees them as smarter but hey they work for me. I'd rather him do that than be boring and say what everyone else is.

And what's wrong with trying to be different? You should be happy someone was trying to push the boundaries/be a little out there. This is def one of the most interesting pop punk albums ever made cus of it's theatrical elements, nonsense lyrics, and interesting but still hella fun instrumentals

The thing is it sounds a little like they hadn't fully fleshed out those ideas yet. I hear some say that Pretty. Odd. is better than this since they had fleshed out the ideas they toyed with here, but I haven't tried it yet.

"Pretty. Odd. > this. They did the whole Beatles thing far better than anyone else imitating them." [2]

I see exactly where you're coming from with this minus the fact that I think the catchiness does save it. Also I think Vices and Virtues is slightly better than this

Petty. Odd., Vices, and Too Weird to Live are all 4s, the rest is a 3 or under
