I watched mode of Vulgar recently and he didn’t do it at all, and I’m pretty sure I recall hearing that he gave up on it quite a ways back. I could be wrong tho

He stopped the live self harm years ago. He did it once last year during Mode of Withering to Death but it looked fake to me.
I’m not sure if anyone else here speaks Japanese but I’ve been keeping up with the recent magazine/online/radio interviews as much as I can and they’ve been saying the whole lead up to this album that it was made specifically to translate well to live performances. Interestingly the Japanese comment sections I’ve been in have been really positive so far compared to here.

The vocals being tampered down a bit make sense in this context.

"I would honestly bump my rating by .5 if the mastering on this wasn't so garbage."
I defo agre with this. Some songs are just ruined by it and it's a damn shame

Mastering isn't great but definitely doesn't hamper any enjoyment I have listening to this.

First I've heard that comparison bud. Although there is a bit of that type of riffing on here lol

Album sounds nothing like Marrow, its great for one thing...

I can heard some of that simplistic riffing from marrow on here, but yeah, I can't hear a great deal of marrow on this.
I'm gonna save the bonus tracks for when my copy arrives; extends the longevity of the record for me. Lol

Ooga Booga vocals haha.
Sucks that the bass is buried on here, one of the main things I loved on Arche, DSS and Uroboros.

According to some sources, there was an interview where Kaoru described it as a mix between Arche and TMOAB, so it really isn't an unfair comparison.

Bit of Withering in there for me.
Definitely has that Arche flavour and a DSS feel on the first 2 tracks.
Lacks the quirkiness of Uroboros, though.

This is a step back from their last three releases for sure. Doesn't keep this from being a good album that is fun to listen to though

I thought the audibility on the bass was the best it's been on a dir lp lol figures

This album is like getting kicked in the teeth, love it.

I can hear it but it just sounds flat, it doesn’t pop like it should.

i jammed arche and uroborous once each a while ago and was kinda bored during both. i think i'm enjoying this more so far? i wish the rest of the album ripped your dick off like the first two tracks though

If I only heard Vinushka and thought that was pretty good, would I like this?

Some parts of it, but better just jam Uroboros Remastered instead, then the following two.
